• Only Once !

    21-01-2015 news item

On 5 May 2014, a new law known as the "Only Once" Act entered into force. Its purpose is to make it easier for citizens and businesses to fulfil their administrative obligations. This new Act affects all official bodies that form part of the Federal Government. The Act forbids Federal Government bodies from requesting items of information from citizens and businesses, if the government has already requested the same items of information before. It will therefore be a case of re-using information that is already available. In specific terms, this means that Federal Public Services must make use of what are known as "authentic sources".
