Sign.belgium.be is an eID application that was launched in 2009 together with Mybelgium. Thanks to this website, citizens can sign documents with their eID and verify the validity of electronic signatures. The service is linked to the federal portal and to Mybelgium.be.

For the most common file types a PDF is created online, to which a page with the electronic signature is added. For less compatible formats, sign.belgium.be works with XAdES, an internationally recognised open standard for electronically signing documents.

The authenticity of electronically signed documents can also be verified. After uploading the digitally signed document, the user immediately sees whether the signature is valid.
